Under the direction of the Pharmacy Systems Administrator/Residency Program Director, the role of the Automation and Informatics resident is to promote the safe, effective, timely and optimal use of medications by maintaining pharmacy technology systems including but not limited to: Electronic Health Record - EPIC, automated dispensing cabinets - Pyxis, narcotic diversion software - RxAuditor, inventory management system - IMS, automated pharmacy dispensing system/carousel - Boxpicker, emergency tray management - TraySafe, 340B split billing software - Macrohelix, ambulatory pharmacy systems - EPIC Willow Ambulatory / ParataMax. The incumbent will manage pharmacy system formularies and serve as backup for drug library updates and maintenance. Incumbent will gain additional exposure to inpatient and outpatient pharmacy operations through the lens of pharmacy automation and technology to enhance safety, streamline workflows and improve accuracy. This individual will work independently and use a considerable amount of innovation in problem solving. The Automation and Informatics resident will work collaboratively with pharmacy Automation and Informatics Team, pharmacy staff (management, specialists, technicians) and nursing as well as with IT analysts to implement, maintain, and optimize pharmacy systems. Flexibility to work different shifts for special projects and commuting to offsite facilities as needed. The residency starts and ends in July.
