About The Position

This position, Personnel Specialist II, focuses on recruiting and substitute management. The primary goal is to assist in the planning, management, and training for certified personnel, and to administer or assist with support staff projects and processes.

Requirements

  • Associate degree or higher, or equivalent experience
  • Advanced Microsoft Word, Excel, and Google Workspace
  • Two (2) years of experience in general office work
  • Strong organizational, customer operations, and interpersonal skills

  • Human Resources experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Establish and maintain a personnel file for all employees.
  • Perform necessary duties related to pay establishment for assigned employees, extra duty, temp/substitute employees, and substitute administrators.
  • Assist with the employment process for all personnel, including coordinating onboarding for new hires.
  • Manage PowerSchool records/TalentEd system.
  • Maintain an updated webpage for the applicant system and maintain job postings, requisitions, and recommendations for certified staff.
  • Coordinate and serve as the liaison for the substitute management system.
  • Set up, process, and maintain files for substitute teachers and sub administrators.
  • Perform appropriate computer data entry for substitute teachers and administrators, add and remove staff, create itineraries and schedules, and manage and maintain buildings and calendars in Willsub.
  • Process unemployment claims for the district as the District representative.
  • Process workers’ compensation claims for all employees.
  • Process FMLA claims for all employees.
  • Manage time off requests for exceptional circumstances (Extended leave and ADA accommodations).
  • Attend college fairs for teacher recruitment.
  • Maintain recruiting schedule and prepare recruiting reports.
  • Assist with the coordination of the District-sponsored career expo.
  • Initiate research for and assist in preparing reports as requested by the Superintendent, Deputy Superintendent, Assistant Superintendent for Human Resources, and Director of Human Resources.
  • Provide administrators with information upon approval of the Assistant Superintendent for Human Resources and Compliance or the Director of Human Resources.
  • Assist in other personnel operations as needed, including but not limited to filing, verifications, fingerprinting, and badge-making.
  • Participate in cross-training for other positions in the Human Resources Department.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
