Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Basic knowledge of medical terminology relevant to personal care.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with individuals with limited mobility.
  • Strong understanding of infection control practices.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in an assisted living or long-term care setting.
  • CPR and First Aid certification.
  • Additional training in dementia care or chronic disease management.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent communication skills for interacting with residents, families, and healthcare professionals.

Responsibilities

  • Assist residents with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support.
  • Monitor and report any changes in residents’ health or behavior to nursing staff promptly.
  • Implement infection control procedures to maintain a hygienic and safe environment.
  • Provide emotional support and companionship to residents, fostering a positive and respectful relationship.
  • Document care provided and maintain accurate records in compliance with facility policies.
  • Support residents with limited mobility by safely assisting with transfers and positioning.
  • Demonstrate good judgment in responding to emergencies and routine care situations.
  • Collaborate with healthcare team members to ensure continuity and quality of care.
