The Quality Check / Permitting Coordinator is responsible for leading the permitting lifecycle and ensuring strict quality control standards are met across telecom construction projects. This role supports Ziply projects and requires strong familiarity with Ziply’s permitting processes, expectations, and regional jurisdictional requirements. This individual owns the permit schedule from kickoff through approval, conducts jurisdictional quality reviews, and ensures SLAs and KPIs are consistently achieved. The role directly impacts project timelines, regulatory compliance, and overall customer satisfaction by proactively identifying risks, resolving conflicts, and maintaining high-quality permit submissions.

Requirements

  • Prior experience supporting Ziply projects strongly preferred.
  • Experience in telecom OSP permitting and quality review processes.
  • Strong understanding of OSP telecommunications terminology and workflows.
  • Experience working directly with local, state, and federal permitting agencies.
  • Familiarity with encroachment, excavation, and traffic control permits.
  • Ability to perform thorough quality checks and identify discrepancies before submission.
  • Demonstrated success meeting permitting KPIs and project deadlines.
  • Experience navigating engineering or facility assignment databases.
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • 1+ year college/technical school or six months of related experience and/or training.
  • Ability to travel up to 20% if required.
  • Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record.

Nice To Haves

  • NEPA or environmental permitting experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead permit kickoff meetings with jurisdictions and internal stakeholders.
  • Perform detailed quality checks and jurisdictional conformance reviews prior to submission.
  • Own and manage the full permitting lifecycle for Ziply projects.
  • Track and ensure compliance with SLAs, KPIs, and client-specific timelines.
  • Submit and manage encroachment, excavation, and traffic control permits.
  • Coordinate with design vendors, engineering teams, and municipalities.
  • Identify conflicting jurisdictional requirements and resolve proactively.
  • Maintain accurate tracking systems and reporting dashboards.
  • Access engineering and facility assignment databases to validate data accuracy.
  • Escalate permitting delays and provide mitigation strategies.
  • Ensure all documentation meets client and regulatory quality standards.
  • Responsibilities may evolve based on business and client needs.
