From their state-of-the-art pre-operative care center to their fully appointed, AAAASF accredited surgical facility, they ensure that every step of the patient journey is filled with care and positivity. The center is looking to add a responsible and caring part-time RN to their team, emphasizing excellent communication skills in a highly collaborative and fast-paced environment. The candidate must be a licensed Registered Nurse in the state of Virginia and will be required to travel between Newport News and Williamsburg practices.
Requirements
- Excellent communication skills
- Licensed Registered Nurse in the state of Virginia
- Current BLS certification
- Current ACLS certification
- Current Virginia nursing license (RN)
- BS or diploma in nursing
Responsibilities
- Perform and document patient health status prior to surgery through physical examinations, vitals, current medications, and medical history
- Verification of informed consent
- Administering preoperative medications as prescribed
- Assist with surgery and perform related tasks as directed
- Maintenance of aseptic technique within a controlled environment
- Management of surgical equipment and supplies
- Complete intraoperative documentation
- Monitoring physiologic status of patient such as vital signs, bleeding, and fluid balance
- Completion of postoperative documents
- Assist surgeon with clinic appointment including consults and post operative visits
- Schedule and process paperwork for patient tests, procedures, labs, and office appointments
- Assist surgeon with minor procedures including documentation
