Performance Specialist - Decatur, IL Position Summary The Performance Specialist will drive operational excellence at the East Plant by managing inventory processes, leading performance management initiatives, and consolidating plant data systems. This role ensures accuracy, efficiency, and actionable insights to support plant leadership and business objectives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, Engineering, or related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in inventory management, operations accounting, or process operations.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office, PI, and BI tools.
  • Familiarity with plant operations and financial processes preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work across multiple functions and levels.
  • Understanding of operational accounting best practices and ability to navigate ADM systems.
  • Solid foundation in IT toolkit and BI software.
  • Knowledge of operational KPIs such as OEE, yield, and cost drivers.
  • Ability to lead process improvement initiatives and influence stakeholders.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills across varied functions and levels.
  • Promote a positive safety attitude in all interactions and perform all duties in compliance with ADM’s core values.

Responsibilities

  • Own and manage the East Plant inventory process, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Systematize and streamline activities to reduce manual effort to less than 25% of monthly hours.
  • Perform physical-to-book reconciliations, resolve discrepancies, and maintain accurate records of incoming and outgoing products.
  • Prepare inventory control reports and collaborate with accounting and global business services.
  • Rebuild and lead performance management processes, including cost analysis, variance reviews, and KPI tracking.
  • Partner with plant leadership and finance teams to set benchmarks, analyze performance gaps, and drive improvement actions.
  • Support annual financial planning and forecasting processes.
  • Utilize PI to manage vision dashboards and PI reporting tools.
  • Consolidate and streamline PI and data products for the East Plant to ensure accurate and actionable insights.
  • Leverage BI tools (e.g., Power BI) to analyze trends and support decision-making.
  • Promote accountability for operational and financial KPIs through coaching and follow-up.
  • Ensure compliance with ADM safety standards and core values in all activities.
