Position Summary: We are looking for an enthusiastic Electrical Engineer to join our North American Electrical team. In this role, you will support electrical system studies and learn how to analyze power distribution systems. You will gain hands-on experience with short-circuit studies, arc flash analysis, load flow, motor starting, and harmonic studies under the guidance of experienced engineers. This is an excellent opportunity for recent graduates to grow technical skills, work on real-world electrical projects, and contribute to safe and reliable plant operations.

Requirements

  • Education: Pursuing a 4-year degree in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent). or Biological Engineering with an interest in food production.
  • Relocation: Ability to relocate to Decatur, IL
  • Basic knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC) and interest in learning IEEE standards and NFPA 70E.
  • Familiarity with common electrical drawings and documentation (single-line diagrams, panel schedules, schematics, etc.)—coursework experience is fine.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Comfortable using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Interest in learning about power system modeling software.
  • GPA: Minimum 3.0 GPA
  • Work authorization/visa sponsorship is not available for this role.

Responsibilities

  • Work with senior engineers to review and update single-line diagrams and SKM electrical models.
  • Assist in conducting electrical studies to include load flow, fault current analysis, motor start analysis and Harmonic analysis to evaluate system performance and the impact of changes on system dynamics.
  • Learn how to review arc flash reports and electrical models to ensure compliance with industry standards (IEEE 1584, NFPA 70E).
  • Support plants in remediating overdutied equipment issues.
  • Help perform load flow and related studies to inform design decisions, guided by IEEE standards.
  • Contribute to maintaining and improving study guidelines and technical manuals.
  • Take part in developing and updating our electrical safety program.
  • Review engineering packages with mentorship to ensure compliance with scope and good engineering practices.
  • Gain experience in guiding contractors and vendors on modeling guidelines and quality expectations.
