About The Position

As People Operations Manager, you will support the entire organization in all aspects of logistics and coordination through a people-first approach. It’s likely no two days will look the same as you balance equal parts office management and administrative support for the Operations team, taking on various tasks that keep our agency running smoothly. This is a dynamic role for someone who wants to have an impact in creating meaningful experiences making Hook everyone’s favorite agency. While Hook operates as a remote-first organization, the successful candidate for this position must reside in the Ann Arbor, Michigan, area. Some tasks necessitate an in-office presence at least once a week.

Requirements

  • To be reliable and personable; enjoy working with a diverse range of individuals and ensure employee needs are met and make Hook an amazing place to work
  • Ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality and discretion in regard to matters and documents
  • Strong organization skills; efficient at multitasking with good time management skills
  • Exceptional communication, written and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to manage multiple shifting priorities and operate in a dynamic, time sensitive environment; supporting multiple teams, multiple projects and multiple time zones
  • Initiative and resourcefulness to complete tasks independently
  • Proficient knowledge of technology and ability to learn new tools quickly. Google Suite experience is a plus
  • A valid driver's license and reliable transportation
  • Ability to lift up to 40 pounds occasionally

Responsibilities

  • General office management (supply ordering, mail distribution, voicemail forwarding, point of contact for vendors, guests, and cleaning team, etc.)
  • Manage company accounts for parking and co-working spaces
  • Co-manage company budgets and review and approve employee expenses
  • Manage and organize company swag orders and shipments
  • AdHoc project support for the operations team
  • Oversee onboarding of new hires and freelance support
  • Assist with separations and offboarding tasks
  • Manage internal communications and compliance training schedules
  • Plan company events (remote and in-person) and coordinate travel as requested
  • Co-lead external mentorship program and support internal employee-led groups
  • Order laptops and equipment and coordinate equipment repairs, replacements, and returns
  • Maintain asset tracking system for company-owned assets
  • Manage communications and assignment details with independent contractors
  • Schedule interviews and lead communications with candidates
