We are seeking a dynamic and proactive People Operations professional to serve as the cornerstone of our Houston office. This role blends traditional HR responsibilities with office management, employee experience, and community engagement. You will be the go-to person for culture-building, operational excellence, and internal communications.

  • Manage employee lifecycle processes: onboarding, offboarding, benefits, and compliance.
  • Support recruitment efforts, including scheduling interviews and coordinating with hiring managers.
  • Manage HRIS systems (e.g., Rippling) and ensure data accuracy.
  • Assist with performance management, employee relations, and policy implementation.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws.
  • Partner with Finance to ensure accurate and timely payroll processing, including validating employee data changes, compensation adjustments, and deductions.
  • Oversee day-to-day operations of the Houston office, including supplies, vendors, and facilities.
  • Manage and coordinate badging and security protocols.
  • Serve as the point of contact for building management and service providers.
  • Champion Cemvita’s culture and core values through internal initiatives and events.
  • Coordinate internal surveys and feedback programs (e.g., Best Places to Work).
  • Support onboarding and orientation programs to ensure a smooth employee experience.
  • Lead employee engagement strategies and retention efforts.
  • Represent Cemvita in local events and partnerships, including Houston startup and innovation communities.
  • Organize volunteer activities, networking events, and community outreach.
  • Support internal communications and storytelling around Cemvita’s mission and impact.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent certifications in HR, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
  • 3+ years of experience in HR
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently.
  • Experience with HRIS systems and office tools (e.g., Rippling, Microsoft Teams).
