About The Position

The People Operations Coordinator will work closely with and directly support the Director of People & Culture, helping bring people programs and day-to-day operations to life as the company continues to grow. This role supports hiring, onboarding, and employee experience across the organization and is essential to keeping people processes running smoothly. The ideal candidate is highly organized, people-focused, and thrives in a fast-paced, hands-on environment, balancing rapid growth and change with strong attention to detail and genuine care for employees.

Requirements

  • 1–3 years of experience in HR, People Operations, or a related field
  • Experience working in a start-up required
  • Team-first mindset: Approaches work with humility and flexibility, willing to pitch in wherever the team needs support
  • Adaptable in a fast-growing environment: Thrives in a startup setting where priorities can shift quickly and learning on the fly is key
  • Problem solver: Can triage People requests, identify gaps, and suggest solutions in a fast-moving environment
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Highly organized: Can manage multiple priorities, deadlines, and People processes without missing a beat
  • Discreet and trustworthy: Handles sensitive employee information and People Operations matters with the utmost confidentiality
  • Experience with HRIS platforms (e.g., Gusto, ADP)
  • Familiarity with applicant tracking systems (ATS)
  • Experienced with Google Workspace and communication software such as Slack

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working within apparel, retail, e-commerce, or DTC brands is strongly preferred
  • Basic knowledge of employment law a plus

Responsibilities

  • Support high-volume recruiting efforts across all departments through posting and screening candidates
  • Coordinate candidate outreach, interviews, manage ATS workflows, and ensure a smooth and positive candidate experience, following up with every candidate on their status
  • Coordinate onboarding for new hires, including new hire paperwork, IT ticket requests, and first week meet and greets
  • Support engagement initiatives, internal communications, and culture-building efforts
  • Help manage team calendar, including employee start/end dates, company holidays, birthdays, and service anniversaries
  • Maintain and update employee data across People systems (i.e. Payroll and G-Drive)
  • Assist with updates to People policies as needed
  • Support with state/tax account registrations, vacation/sick time tracking, and offboarding
  • Assist with ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws
  • Help prepare People documentation, audits, and reporting as needed
  • Assist with performance review processes, including scheduling, reminders, and tracking completion
  • Assist with People projects and initiatives that align with People OKRs and company priorities
