This People Business Partner will join the People Business Partners team at Nutanix, a dynamic group dedicated to aligning human resources strategies with business goals across the organization. Based in San Jose, California, the team embodies a culture of collaboration, innovation, and support, focusing on empowering employees and enhancing their experiences at work. The mission of the team is to foster a high-performing workforce that drives strategic initiatives such as leadership development, talent management, and organizational change, while building strong partnerships with business leaders across various regions and countries. You will report to the Director of People Business Partners for Marketing, Legal, and Finance Functions, a leader known for their strong business knowledge, consulting skills, and an inclusive leadership style that emphasizes empowerment, collaboration, and open communication. The work setup for this role is hybrid, requiring the new hire to be present in the San Jose office two to three days a week, allowing for both in-person collaboration and flexibility. The role has minimal travel requirements, which could involve attending internal business meetings or leadership gatherings two or three times a year. This provides an opportunity for networking and gaining insights from other regions while maintaining a strong focus on local team engagement.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience in a People Business Partner or equivalent role
  • Strong business acumen and deep HR knowledge; ability to diagnose and solve organizational challenges.
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field (advanced degree is a plus).
  • Demonstrated experience partnering with leaders to align talent strategies with business goals.
  • Data-oriented decision-maker with strong analytical and organizational skills.
  • Excellent communicator with strong interpersonal and relationship building skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience supporting Marketing or other G&A Organizations (strongly preferred)
  • Familiarity with HRIS systems; strong proficiency in Workday is an advantage.
  • Experience leading or supporting transformational change within a global organization.

Responsibilities

  • Strategic Partnership: Provide strategic HR consultation to senior leaders globally. Align people strategies with business goals and influence key decisions to drive organizational impact.
  • Business Acumen: Provide strategic and practical insight and guidance on solutions to important talent and business challenges
  • Stakeholder Management: Cultivate relationships across all levels of the organization and global teams, adapting to diverse communication styles, cultures, and job disciplines.
  • Talent Solutions: Implement talent management strategies that drive business outcomes, including workforce planning, talent acquisition, and performance management.
  • Employee Relations: Partner with the Employee Relations team to address and resolve employee relations issues, providing guidance and support to leaders and employees.
  • Employee Development: Partner with People Development team to build a strong leadership pipeline, develop employee skills, and support career development.
  • Culture Champion: Participate and support initiatives that help foster an inclusive workplace culture.
  • Data-Driven Decisions: Utilize data and analytics to inform HR strategies and measure the effectiveness of HR programs and other talent activities within the employee lifecycle.
  • Change Management: Participate in change management efforts to support business transformation and growth.
