About The Position

The People & Culture (P&C) Assistant plays a vital role in supporting the full employee lifecycle at Rockland Federal Credit Union. This position provides high-quality administrative and coordination support across recruitment, onboarding, employee records, and engagement initiatives, while helping uphold a strong, inclusive, and compliant workplace culture.

Requirements

  • 1+ years of experience in HR administration, People & Culture, or a similar support role, ideally within a fast-paced environment.
  • Familiarity with HRIS platforms (ADP preferred) and HR documentation processes.
  • Understanding data protection, confidentiality, and compliance requirements.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
  • Exceptional administrative, organizational, and time-management skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with a professional and approachable style.
  • High attention to detail, accuracy, and discretion when handling sensitive information.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate and confidential digital and physical personnel records in compliance with data protection and financial services regulations.
  • Update and manage the HRIS, including employee changes, reporting, and audits.
  • Prepare HR reports and support data requests to inform people-related decision-making.
  • Process pre-employment checks (e.g., background checks, employment verification).
  • Prepare employment and onboarding documentation.
  • Organize and support new hire inductions to ensure a smooth and welcoming onboarding experience while working with the talent development team.
  • Support the administration of employee leave programs (e.g., PTO, sick leave, parental leave, FMLA/state leave), tracking balances and maintaining accurate records.
  • Provide administrative support for employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, wellness initiatives, and voluntary benefits.
  • Assist with policy documentation, acknowledgements, and version control.
  • Track mandatory and professional development training (e.g., via Cornerstone or similar platforms).
  • Ensure strict confidentiality and adherence to regulatory, legal, and organizational requirements.
  • Provide responsive and professional support to employee queries, escalating as appropriate.
