The Transitional Age Community Treatment (TACT) program is a community- and home-based service designed for clients ages 15–29 who are experiencing their first episode of psychosis. Using a collaborative, multidisciplinary team approach, TACT provides a supportive environment that helps clients identify their goals and build skills that promote recovery and resiliency. The program focuses on helping clients progress toward their self-identified life goals, including social, educational, housing, benefits navigation, and illness-management goals. As a Peer Support Specialist, you will help create a supportive, empowering environment where clients can explore and define their own recovery and/or resiliency goals. Peers play an important role in teaching and modeling skills that support clients in moving toward their self-identified goals—whether related to social connection, education, housing, benefits, wellness, or illness management. You will use your unique personal experiences with recovery from mental health and/or substance use disorder to build rapport, foster hope, and engage clients in a meaningful peer-to-peer capacity.
