We are currently seeking a motivated and passionate Outpatient Treatment Program Peer Support Specialist to join our dynamic team. Coastal Horizons Center, Inc. is seeking a qualified Peer Support Specialist (PSS) in the following county: New Hanover The PSS promotes consumer engagement in therapy with clinicians, involvement and engagement with wellness services and recovery support, and engagement with primary care; conducts rapid screening for communicable disease, completes all tracking and reporting requirements for outcomes and evaluation and documents services provided; and assists clients in a variety of ways sharing of personal recovery stories, resource acquisition, etc. The PSS works directly with the Opioid Treatment Programming staff and CHC Treatment providers to ensure continuity of care and engages in a team approach in the provision of services with treatment providers, and support services.

Requirements

  • Highschool Diploma/Equivalent or higher, combined with knowledge of wellness and recovery-based concepts.
  • Lived experiences with mental health and/or substance use disorders and at least 18 months of recovery.
  • Must have completed or be willing to complete the Peer Support Specialist Certification Program.
