About The Position

The Peer Support Specialist provides peer support, information, and advocacy to individuals diagnosed with a serious and persistent relevant illness, in order to assist them in regaining control over their own lives and recovery process and integrating into the community. They engage with patients hospitalized at UHS Hospitals.

Requirements

• HS Diploma or equivalent
• Must receive Peer Support Specialist Certification within 24 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Provide peer support to individuals diagnosed with a serious and persistent relevant illness
• Provide information and advocacy to individuals diagnosed with a serious and persistent relevant illness
• Assist individuals in regaining control over their own lives and recovery process
• Assist individuals in integrating into the community
• Engage with patients hospitalized at UHS Hospitals
