About The Position

Family Guidance Centers, Inc. (FGC), a not-for-profit behavioral healthcare organization, treats and prevents substance use disorder, as well as an array of other related problems. Since 1969, FGC's comprehensive programming has educated and guided individuals toward their full potential as productive members within their own families and our society. Family Guidance Centers, Inc seeks to support the behavioral health of individuals, families, and communities through our commitment to innovation, accountability, and compassionate care to facilitate positive, lasting change. FGC is seeking a Peer Recovery Support Specialist (PRSS) for the Opioid Treatment Program Partnership (OTPP) at UI Health Mile Square Health Center in Rockford, Illinois. The Rockford OTPP integrates methadone-based medication-assisted recovery with primary health care, offering a one-stop, co-located model that addresses both substance use and chronic health conditions in a trauma-informed, culturally responsive environment. The PRSS plays a vital role in engaging patients in recovery, providing peer mentorship, and ensuring seamless coordination between FGC, UI Health, and community resources. This position also includes administrative responsibilities that support patient access, documentation accuracy, and program efficiency.
