About The Position

The Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) Registered Nurse plays a critical role in the care and recovery of children facing life-threatening conditions. This position requires a compassionate and skilled nursing professional who can provide comprehensive nursing care, closely monitor patients, and work in collaboration with multidisciplinary healthcare teams. The PICU RN contributes to a dynamic and fast-paced environment, ensuring that each child receives exceptional medical attention during their most vulnerable moments.

Requirements

Current and valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the applicable state.
A minimum of 2 years of experience in Pediatric Intensive Care or a similar critical care environment.
Current certifications in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS).
Strong clinical assessment skills and ability to make rapid decisions during emergencies.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to thrive in a collaborative, high-pressure healthcare environment.

Nice To Haves

Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is preferred.

Responsibilities

Monitor and assess the health status of pediatric patients in critical condition.
Administer medications, treatments, and IV infusions as ordered by physicians.
Develop and implement individualized care plans in collaboration with the healthcare team.
Educate and support families about medical procedures, treatment plans, and at-home care.
Document patient interactions and care activities accurately in electronic health records.
Respond swiftly to emergencies and provide life-saving interventions as required.
Maintain compliance with all hospital policies, procedures, and safety standards.
