About The Position

Fairview is looking for a RN in the ICU to join our St. John’s Hospital team in Maplewood, MN. This position is 48 hours per two weeks on the Night shift, for 12 hour shifts, with an every third weekend rotation. This hospital provides a warm, inviting atmosphere and humble staff. About This Unit: St. John’s is proud to offer hiring opportunities within its growing ICU. Comprised of a Medical Surgical and Cardiac Specialty population, St. John’s currently has 20 ICU beds. We pride ourselves on delivering the best patient care and welcome nursing assistants who are engaged and eager to develop their practice. 20 Adult ICU beds Average Daily Census 14 Patient population: Medical/Surgical & Heart Care The Registered Nurse is responsible for the assessment, planning, delivery, and evaluation of nursing care for all assigned patient population(s). The RN is responsible for performing these responsibilities in accordance with all policy, procedures, professional practice guidelines and the MN Nurse Practice Act. The RN coordinates care with members of the health care team and delegates responsibilities to others as appropriate.

Requirements

  • Basic Life Support (American Heart Assoc or Red Cross)
  • MN Registered Nurse (RN) License
  • 2 Years Critical Care RN Experience

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelors Degree in Nursing
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (American Heart Assoc) Some positions may require ACLS depending on the unit and patient population.

Responsibilities

  • Assesses patient needs and identifies expected nursing outcomes.
  • Collaborates with patient, family and other health team members to develop a nursing plan as part of an integrated, comprehensive plan of care
  • Develops an individualized plan based on age, social and cultural considerations, condition and other relevant needs.
  • Evaluates care and patient response to interventions and expected outcomes.
  • Collaborates and communicates effectively and respectfully with the patient, family and members of the health care team within and across care settings to promote partnership-based health care
  • Demonstrates the ability to advance care by utilizing standards, guidelines, care pathways and continuous improvement to enhance patient outcomes.
  • Promotes a culture of evidence based practice (EBP)
