About The Position

To provide high quality echocardiograms for interpretation and diagnosis by a Pediatric Cardiologist. To act as a preceptor in performing high quality pediatric echocardiograms for students, novice sonographers and fellows. Requirements

  • Associate's Degree Graduation from accredited sonography program, preferred and 3-5 years experience in Pediatric and/or Adult Congenital Echo, preferred or
  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited sonography program preferred and 3-5 years experience in Pediatric and/or Adult Congenital Echo
  • One of the following: Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (ARDCS), Registered Congenital Cardiac Sonographer required upon hire
  • RDCS Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (ARDCS) RDCS or RCCS Required Upon Hire
  • BLS Certification Required Upon Hire

Responsibilities

  • Perform Pediatric Echocardiography on patients in age from newborns to adults and act as a preceptor for novice imagers.
  • Provide care with consideration of patient?s age, diagnosis, psycho-social characteristics and family stressors that affect ability to understand or retain instructions. Maintain service excellence in all aspects of echo lab operations.
  • Maintain efficient operations of the Echo Lab
  • Demonstrate commitment to teamwork and learning
  • Participate in performance improvement activities designed to improve patient care and/or organizational processes
