About The Position

Support and maintain in-house computer systems, desktops, and peripherals as directed by the VP of Operations. Includes installing, diagnosing, repairing, maintaining, and upgrading all hardware and equipment while ensuring optimal workstation performance. Provide end-user training and assistance when required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree (B.A.) in Computer Science or related field or equivalent experience or 2-3 years of experience with appropriate Microsoft Certifications.
  • 2-3 years of experience with appropriate Microsoft Certifications
  • Solid computer skills including but not limited to these specific software programs: Windows, PC Operating Systems. Ability to build/repair PC’s and troubleshoot hardware problems and related tasks.
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or government regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customer and the general public.

Responsibilities

  • Work with end-users to identify and deliver required PC service levels.
  • Provide training and support to end-users and staff on computer operations and other issues.
  • Install, configure, test, maintain, monitor and troubleshoot associated end-user workstation software and networking software products.
  • Perform on-site analysis, diagnosis, and resolution of PC problems for a variety of end-users, and recommend and implement corrective hardware solutions.
  • Respond to all assigned tasks from the Helpdesk (Footprints). Update Footprints as required to indicate status and completion of assigned tasks.
  • Maintain an inventory of all monitors, keyboards, hard drives, modems, printers, scanners, and other peripheral equipment.
  • Monitor and test PC performance and provide PC performance statistics and reports.
  • Accurately document instances of hardware failure, repair, installation, and removal.
  • Construct, install, and test customized configurations based on various platforms and operating systems.
  • Conduct research on computer products in support of PC procurement and development efforts. Evaluate and recommend hardware products for purchase.
  • Schedule and perform PC, hardware and peripheral equipment improvements, upgrade and repairs.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of hardware and equipment contracts.
  • Backup network functions when Network Engineer is unavailable.
  • Maintain Data Center Operations as directed by the I.T. Director.
  • Work with Vendor Technical Support to debug/analyze complex problems.
