About The Position

Ensure all internal controls and procedures are followed for accuracy and compliance Assist internal and external clients with requests and problems in a timely manner Manage email correspondence Maintain up-to-date knowledge of payroll tax rules and regulations to ensure compliance Prepare payroll tax payments for daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly depositors File all federal, state, and local payroll tax returns in accordance with agency specific requirements Enter and update account numbers, unemployment rates, and deposit frequencies in both the payroll and tax system Reconciling prior to service payroll tax data for new customer to ensure we've loaded history correctly Resolve payroll tax notices with federal, state, and local tax agencies Audit preparation (year-end) Examine payroll records to ensure proper recording of tax transactions Identify, test, and support department efficiency-related processes and improvements Input data into software within required deadlines accurately Additional responsibilities as assigned

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Acute detail and accuracy skills
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate verbally and in writing throughout all levels of organization, both internally and externally
  • Excellent customer relation skills
  • Proficient use of applicable technology
  • Ability to work in a team environment as well as independently
  • Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities and pay close attention to detail on many, varied tasks

Nice To Haves

  • 1+ year experience in multi-state payroll/taxes
  • Basic knowledge of payroll and accounting
  • Ability to read and interpret complex federal, state, and local policies and other written documents as it pertains to tax compliance and filing matters.
