About The Position

This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Payroll/Systems Consultant in the United States. This role is a client-facing consulting position focused on optimizing HR and payroll systems to drive operational efficiency, accuracy, and compliance. The Payroll/Systems Consultant works directly with clients to assess workflows, implement improvements, configure platforms, and provide training and ongoing support. The position requires expertise in payroll processing, HR operations, and hands-on experience with systems like Workday, Paycor, ADP, Paylocity, or UKG. Candidates will have the opportunity to work on diverse clients and projects, applying practical knowledge to deliver measurable business impact. This is a flexible, remote, part-time role, ideal for professionals who thrive in independent, consulting-focused environments while helping organizations streamline critical HR and payroll functions.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in payroll and HR operations.
  • Hands-on experience with HRIS and payroll platforms such as Workday, Paycor, ADP, Paylocity, UKG, Ceridian, or equivalent.
  • Experience in system implementation, configuration, optimization, or transitions.
  • Strong knowledge of payroll processing, tax compliance, and multi-state or union payroll environments (construction industry experience a plus).
  • Client-facing or consulting experience, with excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple projects independently.
  • Comfortable working remotely and handling flexible project-based schedules.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a trusted advisor to clients on HRIS and payroll systems, identifying opportunities for optimization and efficiency.
  • Configure, implement, and support payroll and HR platforms including Paycor, Workday, ADP, Paylocity, UKG, and similar systems.
  • Lead system cleanups, upgrades, and transitions, ensuring accurate payroll configurations and compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Partner with clients to understand payroll and HR workflows and design practical solutions that improve processes and reduce errors.
  • Deliver client training, documentation, and ongoing support to ensure self-sufficiency and adoption of optimized systems.
  • Troubleshoot payroll and system issues, escalating and resolving complex challenges to maintain operational continuity.
