About The Position

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Payroll Coordinator to join our team. This role is responsible for processing payroll for field and office employees, ensuring compliance with union agreements, prevailing wage laws, and multi-state regulations. The ideal candidate will have experience in construction payroll and a strong understanding of certified payroll reporting and labor compliance.

Requirements

  • Associate or bachelor’s degree in accounting, business, or related field preferred.
  • Payroll Certifications (CPP, CCIFP, or similar) can serve as alternatives to a formal degree.
  • 2+ years of payroll experience, preferably in the construction industry.
  • Familiarity with certified payroll, prevailing wage laws, and union payroll processing.
  • Proficiency in payroll and accounting software (ADP, Sage Intacct, or similar).
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with multi-state payroll and job costing.
  • Knowledge of construction industry labor laws and union agreements.
  • Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) or similar certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Process weekly payroll for union and non-union employees across multiple job sites and states.
  • Maintain accurate payroll records, including timecards, job codes, cost codes, and employee classifications.
  • Prepare and submit certified payroll reports in compliance with Davis-Bacon, Inflation Reduction Act, and other prevailing wage requirements.
  • Ensure accurate deductions for benefits, garnishments, and union dues.
  • Collaborate with project managers and field supervisors to verify hours and resolve discrepancies.
  • Stay current on union contracts, wage determinations, and labor compliance requirements.
  • Respond to employee inquiries regarding pay, taxes, and benefits.
  • Assist with audits and reporting for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Support HR and accounting teams with onboarding, terminations, and job costing data.
  • Other duties as assigned.
