About The Position

Keep our communities fed. The Payroll Specialist IV role will execute the payroll function for assigned clients including maintenance of employee payroll records, payroll processing and resolution of client queries. The position will be responsible for payment and filing of payroll taxes and issue of W2's, the compilation, analysis and communication of management reporting and financial statements, and for the provision of selected accounting services for assigned Independent retail clients. The Payroll Specialist IV will identify and implement additional contracts and ensure all activities are provided in compliance with contracts Job Description Text “CS” to 32543 to learn more about how you can become a part of our legacy.

Requirements

  • At least six months of warehouse experience with financial systems and software (Oracle, Hyperion, Workday, Excel) preferred
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office preferred
  • Strong planning and execution skills
  • Ability to work with and through others to achieve desired results
  • Strong team orientation and collaboration to work effectively in a team environment
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with people at all levels in the organization
  • Ability and willingness to follow all safety policies and procedures

Responsibilities

  • Recording and verifying all relevant payroll data and input prior to processing, as well as preparing and communicating report with details of weekly payroll run to client
  • Reviewing employee tax status and tax authority assignment to ensure correct tax withholding
  • Processing, reviewing and delivering payroll checks and direct deposit pay slips
  • Maintaining employee payroll records in FMS (financial accounting management software) based on client input including for new employees
  • Reviewing and analyzing payroll balance sheet accounts, preparing balance sheet reconciliations and propose appropriate adjusting journal entries
  • Liaising with client to resolve any queries
  • Compiling summary of monthly activities and analysis of key account balances and communicate to client
  • Preparing file and pay weekly payroll taxes and prepare quarterly payroll tax filings and submit to state agencies
  • Preparing, processing and mailing W2's annually and prepare and submit accompanying electronic filings
  • Ensuring all activities are executed in compliance with clients' payroll policies, procedures and controls, as well as C&S department procedures and document them
