About The Position

In This Role, You Will be responsible for the accurate completion and submission of biweekly payroll. In addition, the payroll specialist will serve as the lead HRIS administrator and play a key role in ensuring precise data & compliance for our HR department. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, highly organized, a self-starter, and committed to delivering exceptional service to staff.

  • Technical skills - Proficiency in Google Suite and Microsoft Suite; Familiarity with UKGReady HRIS system and Asana a plus

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for accurate completion and submission of biweekly payroll for all employees, including accurate processing of overtime hours and timesheets
  • Primary support of payroll email account
  • Maintain annual payroll activity calendar
  • Create all additional duties/stipend documents timely and accurately
  • Process bonus payments, reimbursements and miscellaneous dedication requests, and any other changes to payroll
  • Ensure the HR payroll backup team member is trained and can step in when payroll lead is away from work/unable to process payroll
  • Offer system and process improvements while rolling with changes as they come to us
  • Serve as the HRIS system lead, collaborating with HR director for execution of both new and existing projects
  • Complete annual ACA reporting and items necessary for proper W2/1095 processing
  • Provide administrative support for the HR department, including the employee life cycle and benefits administration, specifically as it relates to payroll
  • Audit support for HR Director and HR department
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records, including personnel files, payroll information, and benefits records
  • Compile data and reports when needed
  • Ensure compliance with legal requirements and company policies related to record-keeping, audits and payroll
  • Assist with annual projects including beginning and end of year transitions
  • Work with HR team when necessary to answer day-to-day employee questions sent to the HR ticketing system and HR email account; assist in training HR team members when appropriate and needed
  • Provide support on some employee relations matters as it pertains to payroll, escalating more complex issues as appropriate
  • Help with smooth execution of major annual HR events, including Summer Welcome Days, contract renewal and open enrollment
  • Assist with benefits administration when payroll is specifically impacted
  • Communicate proactively, clearly and consistently with colleagues and supervisors, providing frequent updates on progress.
