Circle of Life is growing, and we have an opening for a Payroll Specialist to join our corporate office in Shoreview. The Payroll Specialist is responsible for overseeing the payroll process for the organization, maintaining accurate payroll records, and providing general assistance to the Finance and Human Resources departments. Requirements

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Proven ability to meet deadlines
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • 1-2 years of payroll experience or familiarity with payroll software required.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and process all aspects of payroll operations, including data entry, calculations, reconciliations, and compliance.
  • Maintain accurate payroll records, documentation, and reporting for auditing and compliance purposes.
  • Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual audits of pay rates, ESST balances, tax rates, exemption statuses, and related payroll data.
  • Enter and maintain employee data in payroll and HRIS systems, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Serve as the internal point of contact for payroll-related inquiries from administrative staff.
  • Review and submit MHCP Individual PCA Enrollment Applications for Minnesota branch locations.
  • Process employment and wage verifications in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Manage wage garnishments and withholding orders, including documentation, setup, and compliance monitoring.
  • Respond to court or agency requests related to payroll documents or garnishments.
  • Ensure accuracy of garnishment data through regular review of system-generated reports.
  • Identify and implement opportunities for payroll process improvement, increasing efficiency, accuracy, and employee experience.
