About The Position

We are seeking a highly skilled Payroll Specialist to join our Finance team at Hinge Health. In this role, you will support our Finance department by supporting payroll operations in the US and internationally. You will report to the Sr. Manager, Equity & Payroll, and work closely with cross-functional teams, including People, Benefits, HR Technology, Equity, Tax, and Accounting. This role is essential for managing day-to-day payroll processes and ensuring timely completion of critical payroll reporting deadlines. Requirements

  • Multi-state payroll experience
  • Understanding of taxing authorities and government regulations
  • Strong analytical, organizational, problem solving and follow up skills; detail oriented
  • Experience working in a high-growth environment
  • Ability to perform duties in a timely manner in order to meet deadlines
  • Proactive and collaborative work style
  • Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills - ability to perform v-lookup/x-lookup and pivot tables

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree and at least 2 years’ experience in processing payroll
  • Knowledge and experience with Workday, ADP, Empower
  • Experience with Workday system configuration
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
  • Experience processing payroll in a publicly traded company
  • Basic knowledge of payroll responsibilities for equity compensation (stock options, RSUs, ESPP)

Responsibilities

  • Accurately prepare semi-monthly and bi-weekly payrolls in Workday for 1500+ employees across different entities in the US and Canada
  • Calculate and prepare off-cycle payrolls as necessary
  • Audit new hires and process terminations, gather supporting documentation for payroll items and variances
  • Complete 401(k) fundings in Empower and ensure information is accurate and properly recorded
  • Research and resolve payroll processing exceptions
  • Respond to payroll employee inquiries and payroll-related questions timely
  • Work cross-functionally with HR operations and accounting teams
  • Process garnishments, levies, withholding tax notices, child support, and unemployment insurance questionnaires as needed
  • Complete audits of employees who have different live/work states and collaborate with People Ops and HR to resolve
  • Assist with auditing tax codes and setup between Workday and ADP and resolving discrepancies
  • Assist with requesting new state registrations as entities expand or original registrations expire
  • Assist with quarterly tax audits and year-end W-2 reporting
  • Support equity compensation processing including RSUs, ISOs, NQs, and ESPP
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities, including ad hoc reporting, audits, or special projects, as needed
