About The Position

X-Bow Systems is a cutting-edge aerospace technology company focused on revolutionizing solid rocket motor propulsion systems for space exploration and defense applications. Our team of innovative engineers and chemists is committed to pushing the boundaries of what's possible in rocket propulsion. As we continue to expand our operations, we are seeking a talented and driven Payroll Specialist to join our team. The Payroll Specialist will be responsible for processing payroll for up to 400 employees across 20+ states, managing the employment federal and state employment tax reporting, responding to employee's pay questions, and assisting the Finance team with as needed.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent; Two-year accounting degree preferred but not required.
• 3-5 years of payroll experience is required
• State and Federal employment tax submission oversight
• Experience with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word) is required

Nice To Haves

• Experience with payroll platforms such as Paylocity is desired
• Experience with ERP system such as Cost Point is desired
• Experience with business insurance and state use/sales tax submissions is desired
• Proven ability to provide excellent customer service to our employees via verbal and written communications
• Ability and desire to work on a team with the common goal to pay our employees accurately and on-time
• Detail-oriented and can pivot from a task when needed
• Enjoy problem solving and finding the why

Responsibilities

• Review hours and pay data, and detect and reconcile payroll discrepancies
• Process and post payroll to issue employee paychecks and ACH payments
• Process miscellaneous payments related to missed time or retroactive increases
• Update employee information in the payroll system such as union and pay class changes
• Reconcile payroll between bank, pay system, and ERP system
• Correspond via email and telephone with employees regarding payroll issues
• Meet daily and weekly time-sensitive deadlines
• Willingness to accept and complete other projects as assigned
