The Payroll Specialist is responsible for processing assigned pay groups utilizing Workday HRM/Payroll System, off-cycle paychecks, related inbound and outbound interfaces, processing metrics, and other Payroll-related reports and forms. This is expected to be a 12-month assignment but may extended based on business needs. Duties include: Processes Workday Timesheets, Absence and Leave related to payroll. Provides information and assistance to the University departments on payroll, timesheet and absence issues. Responds to inquiries from staff, faculty and the HR community. Qualifications: Knowledge of payroll/accounting concepts and practices as well as PC-based applications. Understanding of IRS regulations, maintain accurate and detailed records and handle confidential information. Effective communication, customer service, and organizational skills. Knowledge and skills typically acquired through an associate's degree (or equivalent) plus 1-3 years of experience. Bachelor's degree preferred. Payroll or accounting experience with Workday.
