About The Position

The Payroll Specialist supports the payroll function by ensuring accurate, timely processing and maintaining compliance with internal policies and external requirements. This role assists with payroll audits, employee inquiries, wage adjustments, and data entry while serving as a key point of communication between supervisors, employees, and the Payroll Administrator.

Requirements

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Excellent organizational and time‑management skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Associate degree or equivalent experience
  • Requires basic job knowledge of systems and procedures obtained through prior work experience or education
  • Requires a minimum of 3 years of experience

Responsibilities

  • Assist with payroll audit requests and provide necessary documentation
  • Serve as a liaison between supervisors, employees, and the Payroll Administrator
  • Prepare and issue wage statements
  • Process new-hire PTO entries and updates
  • Complete reporting and submissions related to payroll taxes
  • Enter and update wage adjustments
  • Process safety shoe reimbursements
  • Manage travel pay adjustments
  • Administer gym reimbursement updates
  • Lead/Participate in Workday training as needed
  • Provide backup support for weekly and bi‑weekly payroll processing
  • Other duties as assigned
