About The Position

We are seeking an experienced Payroll Specialist to join our Human Resources team. This role is responsible for the accurate, timely, and compliant execution of full-cycle payroll across a multi-state organization. The Payroll Specialist serves as a key point of contact for payroll-related questions and works closely with both the People and Accounting teams to ensure payroll accuracy, benefits reconciliation, and proper financial reporting. The ideal candidate is highly detail-oriented, compliance-focused, and brings a strong customer service mindset.

Requirements

  • Minimum of5 years of hands-on payroll experience
  • Strong understanding of payroll compliance, controls, and best practices
  • Experience working with payroll systems (ADP strongly preferred)
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong communicationand customer service skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
  • Proficiencyin Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office Suite

  • Exposure to payroll audits, reconciliations, and process documentation
  • Experience working with third-party payroll, benefits, or retirement vendors

Responsibilities

  • Execute end-to-end payroll processing in coordination with ADP, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
  • Process payroll changes including new hires, terminations, pay adjustments, commissions, bonuses, and off-cycle payrolls
  • Manage semi-monthly payroll across multiple states, with support for weekly and biweekly payrolls as needed
  • Respond to employee and manager inquiries related to payroll, taxes, deductions, and garnishments
  • Coordinate payroll tax documentation and ensuretimelysubmission to ADP
  • Administer garnishments and other payroll withholdings
  • Prepare payroll reports and support payroll reconciliation activities
  • Prepare payroll journal entries and partner with Accounting for General Ledger posting
  • Oversee benefit-related payroll activities, including deductions, billing reconciliation, and vendor payments
  • Perform monthly reconciliations of health insurance invoices
  • Support 401(k) administration, including funding, audit support, and Form 5500 filings
  • Monitor payroll integrations between ADP and third-party vendors and escalate issues as needed
  • Assistwith payroll audits, internal reviews, and compliance initiatives
  • Contribute to ongoing payroll process improvements and system enhancements
