About The Position

Tagg-N-Go Car Wash is hiring a Senior Payroll Specialist to own payroll accuracy and support key HR operations as our company continues to grow. Payroll is one of the most important trust points between a company and its employees. This role ensures every employee is paid correctly and on time, every pay period. The Senior Payroll Specialist will own payroll processing, payroll data validation, and payroll reporting. Outside of payroll cycles, this role supports HR operations including reporting, employee questions, benefits coordination, and administrative processes that help the HR team operate smoothly. This role is ideal for someone who takes pride in precision, enjoys working with data, and values building reliable processes.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of payroll processing experience, including multi-state payroll
  • Strong understanding of payroll compliance, tax deductions, and wage laws
  • Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, data validation)
  • Experience with payroll systems such as Paylocity, ADP, UKG, iSolved, or similar
  • Exceptional attention to detail and strong process discipline
  • Ability to audit data and identify discrepancies before payroll is finalized
  • Clear communication skills when working with employees and leadership
  • Comfort working in a fast-paced, operational company

Responsibilities

  • Process bi-weekly multi-state payroll
  • Validate hours, pay rates, deductions, and payroll changes before submission
  • Ensure payroll is processed accurately and on schedule every cycle
  • Conduct pre- and post-payroll audits
  • Identify discrepancies and resolve issues before payroll is finalized
  • Maintain strong validation processes to ensure payroll accuracy
  • Ensure payroll practices comply with federal, state, and local wage and tax laws
  • Manage garnishments, tax deductions, and other payroll compliance items
  • Maintain accurate payroll data within the HRIS system
  • Build payroll and workforce reports for HR and leadership
  • Use Excel and reporting tools to validate data and identify inconsistencies
  • Assist with benefits deductions, employee payroll questions, and administrative HR processes
  • Support onboarding documentation and employee data maintenance
  • Partner with the HR team on operational initiatives and reporting
