Payroll Specialist
About The Position
Virtu is a financial trading technology firm and a global leader in electronic market making. We actively make markets across a broad range of asset classes, providing liquidity on over two hundred thirty-five market centers around the world. We are looking for a Payroll Specialist to join our Human Resources team in the New York office. This position is critical in providing backup and support to our current team. This candidate will also work with our finance team on various project when not handling heavy payroll cycles. The ideal candidate will be an exceptional communicator, proactive and a quick learner. The role will require coordination of many projects simultaneously, so stellar organization skills will be key.
Requirements
- Experience with processing payroll via Workday, bonus points for experience with handling equity/RSUs
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Knowledge of multi-state withholdings requirements and ability to reconcile W-2 forms
- Associates or bachelor’s degree strongly preferred
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to work in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to handle various projects simultaneously, adapt to changes in project direction and priorities
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively represent the firm in a professional manner
Responsibilities
- Process US semi-monthly and off-cycle payrolls for approximately 670 employees
- Help with international payrolls as needed
- Assist with employee questions on payroll and taxes
- Keep up to speed with multi-state reporting and withholding requirements
- Assist with various payroll and finance-related audits
- Provide support to accounts payable and engage with other finance-related tasks and assignments
