About The Position

Rightway is looking for a Payroll Manager to join our team. We're seeking an experienced Payroll Manager who will play a key role in overseeing our payroll operations and ensuring the accuracy, compliance, and efficiency of our payroll processes across the entire organization. You'll work closely with HR, Finance, and IT leadership to support our growing workforce while managing all payroll-related functions and ensuring seamless employee experience. The ideal candidate has experience in full-cycle payroll management, is a strong communicator, is extremely detail oriented and is excited to join a seasoned team of technology and healthcare experts looking to help humanize the world of healthcare. The Payroll Manager will be pivotal in helping to streamline our payroll processes, ensure compliance with federal and state regulations, and help build and refine our compensation and benefits administration. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, or related field (CPP or FPC certification strongly preferred)
  • 5+ years of progressive payroll experience, ideally within a fast-paced startup and/or healthcare technology industry with the ability to adapt to new and evolving payroll requirements
  • Experience and proficiency with ADP and other HRIS / Benefits systems
  • Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and methodical problem-solving approach, combined with comprehensive knowledge of federal and state payroll tax regulations, wage and hour laws, and benefits administration
  • Strong communication skills with ability to respond to employee inquiries and resolve complex payroll issues

Responsibilities

  • Lead and optimize end-to-end payroll cycle management, encompassing bi-weekly payroll processing, tax compliance, and benefits administration while ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance with federal, state, and local regulations across all employee populations
  • Implement process improvement strategies to streamline payroll operations, including evaluating and implementing new HRIS systems, leading cross-functional initiatives with HR and Finance teams, and building automated workflows to enhance reporting capabilities, operational efficiency, and strategic decision-making support
  • Manage payroll tax compliance and filings across multiple jurisdictions, including quarterly and year-end reporting, and coordinating with external tax advisors to ensure accurate and timely submissions
  • Oversee garnishment processing, benefits deductions, and equity compensation administration, ensuring proper documentation and compliance with all applicable regulations
