This role supports payroll operations through data entry, verification of time and attendance records, payroll reporting, and resolution of employee inquiries. The ideal candidate is highly detail-oriented, organized, and able to manage confidential information with professionalism in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s degree in accounting or a related field preferred.
  • 1–2 years of payroll processing or related administrative/finance experience.
  • Familiarity with payroll systems or HR technology platforms.
  • Basic knowledge of wage and hour laws and payroll tax practices.
  • Strong attention to detail with a high level of accuracy.
  • Proven ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and standard office software.

Responsibilities

  • Process payroll for hourly and salaried employees on bi-weekly and semi-monthly schedules.
  • Review and verify timesheets, attendance records, and pay data for accuracy.
  • Enter and maintain employee information in payroll systems, including new hires, terminations, and pay changes.
  • Calculate and process pay adjustments such as overtime, bonuses, and deductions.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local wage and hour regulations.
  • Assist with year-end activities, including preparation and distribution of W-2s.
  • Respond to employee inquiries related to pay, direct deposit, and tax documentation in a timely and professional manner.
  • Maintain accurate payroll records and safeguard sensitive information.
  • Support internal and external audits and generate payroll reports as requested.
  • Partner with HR and Accounting to ensure alignment and data integrity.
