GENERAL The Manager of Payroll interacts with all departments and team members across the company. This individual is expected to serve as a payroll expert, maintaining current knowledge of federal, state, and local payroll laws and guidelines. The successful candidate will demonstrate exceptional attention to detail, strong customer service and communication skills, and the ability to represent the company’s values and culture while supporting employees at every level in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
  • Three (3) or more years of experience in payroll and benefits administration.
  • Familiarity with generally accepted accounting and payroll principles.
  • Experience processing payroll for exempt and non-exempt populations; international experience is a plus.
  • Strong work ethic with the highest level of professionalism and confidentiality.
  • Proficient in Outlook, Microsoft Word, and Excel (intermediate level or higher).
  • Experience using ERP or accounting software systems (e.g., Concur) preferred.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with employees and leadership.
  • Self-starter with strong organizational skills and the ability to meet deadlines.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Highly detail-oriented with strong analytical, problem-solving, and reconciliation abilities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to pass a background check, pre-employment drug test, and criminal history records check (CHRC).
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience using ERP or accounting software systems (e.g., Concur) preferred.
  • Experience processing payroll for exempt and non-exempt populations; international experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and oversee the semi-monthly and bi-weekly payroll for the entire company, including crew payroll, executives, management, administrative, and support staff.
  • Respond to and resolve team member payroll questions in a timely and accurate manner; provide guidance on complex payroll matters.
  • Develop deep expertise in the nuances of crew member pay, including overages and per diem administration.
  • Produce accurate and detailed payroll reporting for leadership, accounting, and finance as required.
  • Provide direction and oversight to ensure completion of quarterly Form 941 filings, 1099s, 1095s, state tax reporting, and all other regulatory requirements.
  • Serve as the company subject matter expert (SME) for payroll and related benefit programs, including PTO administration and 401(k) reporting.
  • Remain current on changes to federal, state, and local payroll laws and guidance.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
