We are seeking a Payroll Assistant Manager to join our team in Tucson. This role plays a key part in ensuring accurate and timely payroll operations while supporting our commitment to excellence for both our employees and guests.

Requirements

  • Strong working knowledge of payroll processing, payroll tax administration, and employment laws
  • Sound judgment
  • Effective coaching and counseling skills
  • Genuine desire to facilitate positive outcomes
  • Associate or bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or business, or possess a minimum of 3 years of payroll experience with FLSA, OT, commmissions, and W-2s
  • Prior experience supervising and mentoring colleagues
  • Subject matter expert on payroll laws and procedures across multiple states
  • Comfortable researching state regulations using both online resources and compliance software
  • Effective facilitator and skilled in drafting policies, procedures, and training materials for supervisors, managers, and staff
  • Exercise excellent judgment, maintain confidentiality, and demonstrate strong attention to detail
  • Analytical skills enable you to make sound decisions and provide well-reasoned solutions and recommendations
  • Collaborative team player who works effectively with diverse groups and can prioritize multiple tasks simultaneously

Responsibilities

  • Accurate execution of payroll operations, including full-cycle regular payroll processing
  • Service and colleague commission reporting and adjustments
  • Timely posting of payroll-related reports
  • Payroll tax administration and research
  • System administration within ADP and UKG
  • Oversight of the payroll helpdesk
  • Staff supervision, recruiting, training, and coaching
  • Ensures compliance with statutory requirements
  • Develops and maintains Payroll Standard Operating Procedures
  • Trains managers on proper timekeeping practices
  • Evaluates, tests, and implements new payroll systems and processes
