About The Position

You love helping people, you have an eye for detail, and nothing feels more satisfying to you than knowing everything is correct! You’d be perfect for our Payroll Administrator position! Your Role: As Payroll Administrator, you’ll: Prepare payroll account transactions. You’ll look over timecards, check that they’re approved by supervisors, look for any errors on punches, and more. People will count on you to get paid correctly and on time! Maintain payroll system and employee pay records. Sometimes, employees will come to you about address changes, changes in their direct deposit, and so on. You’ll make sure things get updated the right way! Post and audit timesheets and commissions. You’ll send commission reports to our field technicians. If they find any errors, you’ll dig into it and make sure things are corrected. Resolve payroll discrepancies and answer employee payroll questions. When someone isn’t sure about the details of their pay, you’ll be a friendly resource for them to reach out to. Calculate and reconcile payroll corrections, adjustments, retro pay, additional pay, etc. You’ll check for reporting errors and get things fixed up when the numbers aren’t right. You get to help people! You’re the one who makes sure the employees here at Morris-Jenkins get paid correctly (and on time). Because of your talent and eye for detail, they’ll get what they need to take care of their families. You’ll meet a lot of different people. We have office employees, HVAC techs, plumbers, electricians, and more! You get to meet a lot of them as they have questions or concerns about their pay, and you get to be the one to make a difference for them! You’re task-driven. You love a to-do list, you feel motivated by deadlines, and you love following processes. The more efficient a process is, the more you like it! Requirements

  • Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Human Resources, or related field or equivalent work experience
  • Current knowledge of payroll procedures and related laws
  • Strong understanding of North Carolina and South Carolina payroll taxes
  • Ability to effectively use Excel to analyze and manage data
  • Comfortable with Word, Teams, Outlook
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • Talent for analyzing information
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and customer service skills
  • Exceptional organizational skills

Nice To Haves

  • UKG and ServiceTitan experience a plus
  • CPP, CPM or other Payroll certification is a plus
