About The Position

They are seeking a detail-oriented Payroll Admin to join their corporate team. This role involves supporting the payroll department by performing essential administrative and operational functions, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and confidentiality. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment and support a company that serves the great outdoors. The position serves as a key partner to the Payroll Manager and payroll team, managing payroll-related correspondence, documentation, employee inquiries, and compliance-related forms. The ideal candidate is highly detail-oriented, organized, and able to effectively manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, with strong skills in Outlook and Excel.
  • Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills for interacting professionally with employees and external agencies.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Minimum of 1–2 years of experience in payroll administration or a related administrative role.

  • Basic understanding of payroll processes, wage audits, garnishments, and employment verifications preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Review, sort, and distribute payroll mail in a timely and confidential manner.
  • Monitor and respond to payroll voicemail messages and general payroll email inbox, ensuring timely follow-up and resolution.
  • Maintain organized physical and electronic payroll files in compliance with record retention policies.
  • Prepare, process, and track unemployment and disability forms, ensuring accurate and timely completion.
  • Review garnishment orders, enter and update deductions as needed, and follow up with agencies or employees regarding garnishment inquiries.
  • Assist with employment verifications and wage audit requests from external agencies, lenders, or government entities.
  • Serve as a point of contact for employees regarding payroll documentation, employment verifications, wage audits, and general payroll questions.
  • Communicate professionally with government agencies, third-party vendors, and internal departments regarding payroll-related matters.
  • Support the Payroll team during payroll processing cycles by assisting with administrative tasks, audits, or data entry as assigned.
  • Identify discrepancies or missing documentation and escalate issues to the Payroll Manager when appropriate.
  • Assist with special payroll projects and process improvement initiatives as delegated by the Payroll Manager.
  • Provide general clerical and administrative support to ensure smooth payroll operations.
  • Other duties as assigned.
