About The Position

Provides support to the Payroll Manager on all payroll matters and assists with payroll processing. The Payroll Administrator is accountable and responsible for all aspects of quality service for employees and clients; Contacts and assists clients in process of obtaining information for payroll production and tax related issues; verifies totals, responds to and resolves client questions and problems and delivers quality customer service.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

  • Performs customer service functions by answering employee requests and questions.
  • Compiles payroll data such as garnishments, vacation time, and deductions.
  • Poll electronic time clocks and reviews the downloaded information for completeness and accuracy.
  • Accurately keys payroll related data necessary to process and meet appointment schedules.
  • Contacts department supervisors for any missed times.
  • Contacts clients daily to obtain payroll data including salary adjustments, special payments, tax allocations and employee deductions and to set schedules.
  • Researches and resolves client/system problems. Establishes and maintains a positive working relationship with clients, agencies and coworkers to promote a quality service image.
  • Maintains a high rate of client retention through quality service.
  • Keeps abreast of the payroll processing system and changes in wage and tax laws, and corresponds with federal, state and local tax agencies on behalf of our clients in problem situations.
  • Maintains client files.
  • Process weekly transfer of payroll data from timekeeping system to payroll processing system.
  • Pull many internal management reports from time keeping system software.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
