About The Position

Overview: Job Description Summary: Manages financial records, prepares and analyzes financial statements, and ensures compliance with accounting standards and regulations. Job Description: Essential Functions: Performs daily/weekly system processes related to payroll. Proactively monitors and resolves payroll discrepancies and prepares payroll transfers as needed. Reviews and processes Payroll Costing Allocations and Adjustments in accounting system. Ensures accuracy and compliance. Assists with the accurate and timely closeout of awards. Assures compliance with all federal, state and internal regulatory restrictions on payroll. Uses technical knowledge of sponsored research regulations and guidelines and attention to detail to ensure financial transactions do not result in audit disallowances. Works closely with members of Research Accounting department, Sponsored Projects department and internal/external auditors on issues related to responsibilities. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience in Accounting, Finance, or related field, required.
  • One year of accounting experience, required.

Nice To Haves

  • Grant accounting experience, preferred.
