About The Position

The Payments Application Engineering Manager will lead a team of highly skilled engineers focused on building and maintaining FinTech solutions, including real-time payment APIs, batch processing systems, and integrations with banking and other payment processing platforms. This role combines technical leadership with people management to deliver secure, scalable, and innovative financial technology products.

Requirements

  • 3+ years experience managing a software development team
  • 5+ years programming experience ( php , go, python preferred)
  • 3+ years experience in Payments/Fintech industry
  • Experience with Relational Databases ( mysql preferred )
  • Experience with cloud technologies ( AWS, Google Cloud )
  • Experience utilizing AI to increase velocity for development teams
  • Experience with Unit and Integration Testing Methodologies
  • Experience building highly-scalable software solutions
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment & welcome change
  • Highly self-motivated
  • Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent work experience

Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day activities of the engineering team, including resource allocation and project timelines.
  • Conduct performance evaluations, goal setting, and career development planning.
  • Mentor engineers to grow technical and leadership skills; foster a culture of innovation and accountability.
  • Establish training programs tailored to individual development needs.
  • Manage and actively participate in the on-call rotation to ensure timely response to production issues, maintain system reliability, and minimize downtime.
  • Oversee architecture, development, and testing of full-stack applications and payment processing systems.
  • Ensure adherence to coding standards, security protocols, and compliance requirements for financial transactions.
  • Collaborate with product owners to define priorities and deliver features aligned with business goals.
  • Drive continuous improvement in SDLC maturity and engineering best practices.
  • Partner with Product, Operations and other cross functional teams to ensure high-quality releases and rapid issue resolution.
  • Work closely with business stakeholders to align technical solutions with strategic objectives
  • Additional duties as assigned
