About the Role: As an Engineering Manager on the FDPP team, you’ll directly empower a team of engineers, supporting them in their continued growth and success. You’ll collaborate with a talented cross-functional team of Product, Design, and Data partners, focusing on building payments experiences that delight customers. About the Team: Financial Data & Payment Profile (FDPP) is a core Payments Engineering team responsible for ensuring money at Gusto is accurate, auditable, and easy to manage. The team owns financial data systems that track customer funds end-to-end, including reconciliation, customer cash and ledgering, financial reporting, and audit support, working closely with Platform Ops, Accounting, and Data Science. FDPP also owns the Payment Profile experience—how employers and workers create and manage payment methods, split paychecks, and interact with payouts across employees, contractors, and international contractors. FDPP sits within Payments org alongside the Money Movement team. FDPP owns the source of truth for payment data and the user-facing payment method experience. The team operates critical systems with clear reliability ownership, on-call responsibility, and defined SLOs, and is evolving toward supporting new payout methods and more unified payment experiences.
