We are currently looking for a Payment Specialist II to join our team! Reporting to the AVP, Payments, this position is responsible for processing and reconciling payments, including principal, interest, escrow, and fees. This role manages complex borrower inquiries, providing exceptional customer service and resolving payment issues promptly. This role collaborates closely with team members and leadership to refine and optimize payment procedures. Additionally, the Payment Specialist II ensures that all payments are accurately recorded, identifying and rectifying payment discrepancies while maintaining appropriate documentation in compliance with all relevant policies, procedures, and regulations.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED Required; Associate or Bachelor's degree preferred
  • 2+ years' experience in the mortgage servicing industry
  • 2+ years' experience in servicing, banking, and payments/ cash room
  • 1+ years' experience working in a fast-paced work environment
  • Knowledge of Accounting principles and financial concepts
  • Solid verbal and written communication skills
  • Solid interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated analytical skills and problem-solving abilities
  • Good judgment with the ability to evaluate and make decisions
  • Strong time management skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Customer service/ client orientation and results orientation with strong execution skills
  • Ability to prioritize numerous tasks and manage shifting priorities
  • High level of attention to detail and consistency
