About The Position

Varsity Spirit is looking for a Pattern Maker to join our team in Memphis, TN or Dallas, TX.

Requirements

  • Proficient in Gerber AccuMark 10 and PDM/PLM systems
  • Proficient in Adobe Illustrator
  • Able to perform tasks and responsibilities with minimal supervision
  • Excellent patternmaking and grading skills with a focus on active knit sportswear but some experience in woven fabric
  • Exceptional understanding of garment construction and fit
  • Ability to translate sketches into three-dimensional designs
  • Have strong written and verbal communication skills, must be task-oriented and organized
  • Maintain a positive, encouraging attitude in a fast-paced environment
  • Flexible in terms of changing priorities and dealing with multiple projects simultaneously
  • Able to work with internal and external departments, including but not limited to engineering, production, and off-site manufacturing facilities
  • Experience using Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word)
  • AA Degree in Patternmaking or comparable experience preferred
  • 3-5 years experience in manual and Gerber based computerized patternmaking
  • Experience with knit apparel
  • Experience in computerized grading

Nice To Haves

  • PDM/PLM experienced preferred, but not required
  • Sewing experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Execute 1st through production patterns according to design requirements using established base patterns in all silhouette categories
  • Grade all design lines on the established base pattern
  • Create 1st through production specs in PLM
  • Collaborate with Design and Production to meet style construction standards
  • Collaborate with Sample Room and Production to apply any pattern alterations/corrections in a timely manner
  • Create physical markers or zip files to issue to internal and offsite sample rooms
  • Work with sample room to execute sewing standards
  • Review samples to ensure they are sewn and measured correctly
  • Attend fittings when necessary and identify improvements to meet Design requirements
  • Ability to support and train other teammates
  • Other duties upon requests
