Pattern Associate Engineer Primary Responsibilities: Design and detail tooling packages for automated molding and floor molding no-bake casting processes Lead smaller engineering projects and track associated metrics and milestones Provide Solidworks models and working drawings of patterns and coreboxes ensuring completeness, accuracy, and manufacturability Work with internal teams and customers to resolve design or manufacturing issues and recommend design improvements Apply industry specifications and company standards in product development and documentation Participate in Kaizen, standard work, and value stream improvement initiatives Identify and implement cost-reduction opportunities and design efficiency improvements Assist with qualification of new tooling and troubleshooting of existing manufacturing processes Support approval agency activities for new or modified products Performs other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Knowledge of 3D CAD software
  • Proficient in manufacturing concepts and the relationship between tooling design and production efficiency
  • Ability to work cross-functionally with manufacturing, quality, and supply chain teams
  • High school diploma or GED
  • 2+ years’ progressive work related experience with demonstrated proficiency in the discipline/technology/process related to the position
  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment including collaboration with foundry or machining operations

Nice To Haves

  • Associate’s Degree in Engineering or related field
  • 2+ years Pattern making experience for the foundry industry
  • Experience with PLM and ERP systems including JD Edwards
  • Knowledge of AWWA standards and Six Sigma or Lean Manufacturing participation
  • Knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) principles
  • Prior experience in a collaborative engineering or product development environment
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to suggest process improvements
