About The Position

Piedmont Urgent Care is seeking a friendly, detail-oriented Patient Service Representative (PSR) to be the first point of contact for patients, providing a welcoming and efficient experience. This role is crucial for ensuring seamless front-office operations and making a meaningful impact on patients. The PSR will manage front-office tasks, assist with administrative duties, and support the overall clinic workflow, making it ideal for individuals who enjoy customer service, problem-solving, and working in a team-oriented healthcare setting.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Strong communication, attention to detail, and ability to multitask in a busy environment
  • Experience using Electronic Medical Records (EMR) software
  • Ability to work 12-hour shifts, including some weekends and holidays
  • A proactive, friendly, and patient-focused approach to service

Nice To Haves

  • Medical Administrative Assistant certificate
  • 1+ year of experience in a medical office or healthcare setting
  • EPIC EMR software experience

Responsibilities

  • Greet and assist all patients and visitors with a positive attitude, ensuring they feel comfortable and valued.
  • Maintain confidentiality while collecting and organizing important patient and business documents.
  • Analyze health insurance benefits, verify eligibility, and provide patients with relevant payment policies and billing/collection information.
  • Determine and collect each patient’s financial responsibility, ensuring transparency and clarity about costs.
  • Assist the practice manager, providers, and other staff members as needed to ensure smooth daily operations.
  • Understand and enforce healthcare regulatory requirements such as HIPAA and OSHA standards, ensuring all documentation and processes are handled according to guidelines.
  • Support staffing and operational needs by traveling to other Piedmont Urgent Care locations as required.
