Esse Health is currently seeking a full-time Patient Service Representative for our South County Internal Medicine office located at 5034 Griffin Road! Summary: The Patient Service Representative's main responsibility will be answering incoming calls for 9 providers. The PSR will ask pertinent questions related to patient symptoms and relay this information to the provider. The chosen candidate must project a positive and professional image over the phone, and in all interactions with patients and coworkers. This position will be trained to cover the front desk and check-in/out, as well. We are seeking candidates who have the ability to multi-task and stay organized, as well as who possess a strong desire to delivery quality customer service!

Requirements

  • Ability to multi-task and stay organized
  • Strong desire to delivery quality customer service
  • Ability to recognize priority or emergency phone calls
  • Ability to communicate effectively with patients, both on the telephone and in person, including patients who are angry or upset
  • Ability to perform multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to sit at a desk and answer the telephone/perform data entry up to 8 hours a day
  • Proficient with Windows-based PC environment

Nice To Haves

  • Formal training which will probably be indicated by a high school diploma or equivalent
  • 1 or more years of experience working with the public, preferably in a healthcare setting
  • Knowledge of medical terminology
  • Knowledge of the different types of health insurance plans; i.e. HMO's, PPO's, etc.
