About The Position

We are seeking a detail‑oriented and patient‑focused Patient Scheduler to support appointment scheduling and patient coordination. This role serves as the primary point of contact for patients and external facilities, ensuring appointments are accurately scheduled, insurance information is verified, and patients feel informed and supported prior to their visits. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with healthcare scheduling or customer service experience who is comfortable working in a remote, high‑volume environment.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 2+ years of experience in customer service, appointment scheduling, or healthcare settings
  • Proficiency with Google Workspace, Microsoft Office, and other common computer software
  • Strong communication, organization, and attention‑to‑detail skills
  • Dependable, professional, and patient‑focused

Nice To Haves

  • 1+ year of experience using EHR systems (athenaOne preferred)
  • 1+ year of experience working remotely in a high‑volume inbound and outbound call environment

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for patients and external facilities to schedule appointments via phone and electronic communication
  • Accurately log and maintain patient appointments in the scheduling system
  • Collect, verify, and communicate patient insurance and benefits information during the scheduling process
  • Educate patients on insurance verification procedures and expected patient responsibility prior to visits
  • Confirm appointments and provide patients with appointment details, locations, and special instructions
  • Create and maintain patient records, including demographic information and required paperwork or questionnaires
  • Contact referring provider offices to obtain necessary records or information in preparation for appointments
  • Coordinate with healthcare providers and medical staff to ensure efficient and effective scheduling
  • Respond to patient questions and concerns professionally and in a timely manner
  • Collaborate with internal teams and third‑party systems to support coordinated patient care
  • Assist insurance verification team members when needed
  • Perform additional administrative or scheduling duties as assigned
