About The Position

Baptist Health is looking for a Patient Safety Officer to join their team in Elizabethtown, KY The following is a summary of the major functions of this individual's job. He/she may perform other duties, both major and minor, which are not mentioned below, and specific functions may change from time to time. Coordinates and provides direct clinical support for the patient safety and the risk management program. Manages Patient Safety Evaluation System (PSES) activities, including the management of Patient Safety Work Product (PSWP). Also provides support to the Patient Safety-Risk Management Department overall strategies and operations. Works with Clinical Providers and Leadership to improve processes and reduce frequency and severity of undesirable events or trends in patient care or facility management. The Patient Safety Officer participates in pro-active risk assessments based on relevant literature. Works with the Director of Patient Safety and Risk Management to provide oversight; recommends preventative and/or remedial solutions that will improve safety, reduce hazards, prevent loss, transfer risks, and minimize the chance of harm to patients, visitors, staff, and the organization. Works closely with the leaders, physicians, employees, other key operational stakeholders and BH Legal Department and Counsel

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required in Nursing or clinically related Healthcare Field.
  • Five years' experience

Nice To Haves

  • CPHRM (Certified Professional Healthcare Risk Manager) preferred.

Responsibilities
